Frankly I’m upset that the symbol for Allah looks too much like an ice cream cone. Maybe they should change that so they are not disrespecting Allah (or ice-cream).

To be eucuminical, there was a campaign among extreme right-wing christians in the United States some years ago to force Procter and Gamble to change its corporate trademark, which they alleged was a satanic symbol. Nutcases can be found in all belief systems, but what does one label the governments that cater to them?

The people defending this lunacy happen to run the universities and governments in both our countries. So yes, some people will not only defend the indefensible, but push for even more lunacy.

It must be the “newness” of Islam that makes it appeal so much to Westerners’ sense of justice. Christianity has been a part of Western culture for 2,000 years, and Judaism much longer, but what do you think would happen if a ‘Crusade’ were annouced against a company/organization that pissed off even hundreds of millions of members of either faith? Next time there is a display of statues of Mary covered in dung or crosses dipped in piss in public (i.e. taxpayer funded) museums of so-called art, do you think the government would spend thousands of pounds to recall them? No, they would support the ‘artists’ for standing up against oppression or some crap.

Here, a single Muslim (who sounds like a effin’ nutjob) gets catered to and bowed down before. Way to stop terrorism, listen to the wackos and try and ‘understand’ them. Break your backs to not ‘offend’ them while they plot to blow up your kids, cuz they know how stupid and PC everyone is. What the bloody hell. They are cheering every time a copy of the Ten Commandments comes down from a courthouse wall or “under God” gets challenged in the Pledge of the United States of America because of the efforts of liberal nutcases like the ACLU. Western society is ripping its chest open to give the enemy a clear shot at its heart.

Can anyone defend this lunacy?!

Turks are much more liberal than muslims from South Asia and the Middle East. In fact, Britain could probably learn some things from the Turkish government about dealing with Islam.

Hello Matt,

I’m a long time reader, first time poster.

I recently had the pleasure of having a few drinks and playing a round or two of billiards with a Turkish Muslim while in Paris recently. The conversation (while he thrashed me at billiards) turned to religion and I explained various tales of Muslim insanity in Britain.

Some of the examples I offered him: The Muslim girl from Luton (supported by the Muslim Council of Britain) who took her school to court over a dress code, the attempted abolition of Christmas, the demise of the ‘Christian name’, the fury over the Union Jack (being seen in the UK of all places) and the desire by some to create a Islamic state within the British Isles, etc., etc.,

To all of this he eventually replied, admittedly after much pseudo apologising for the religion and staring at me in disbelief, the kind of stare that says “For the love of god please don’t think we are all like that”, he apparently felt somewhat responsible and embarrassed being a Muslim himself (although the weight of his apology was somewhat countered by the beer in his left hand), anyway, after much more apologising and even more somewhat strained (in my honest opinion) disbelief he suggested, “That we, the British, should kick them out”, I pointed out quite vigorously, (My argument being strangely invigorated by the beer in my right hand) that these people were indeed British and ‘kicking out’ wasn’t really an option, to follow up my point and to counter his Enoch Powell style relocation offer, I suggested that we, the entire civilised(?) world, wait for secularism to work its inevitable magic on these people, at which point we can all go back to doing to what we had always done. Which is pretty much anything we want and convincing others it’s a good idea.

Just my £0.02 worth!
