Flag biter strikes back!

September 7th, 2006 Matt

The flag biter is now chewing on the Chinese flag. The Chinese characters on the flag say ‘historical distortion’. From Yeolchae’s blog -

More on the flag biter here and here.

I wonder what kind of ‘historical distortion’ he is protesting about. Is it about China not accepting that the Korean master race created Chinese characters and Oriental medicine?

I think the flag biter is taking on more than he can chew (excuse the pun!).

    Matt

I think he’s talking about Chine incorporating 高句麗 and 渤海 as part of “Chinese” history. Well, I’m pretty sure these kingdoms were not Han Chinese, but I’m also pretty sure that their ruling class and most of the subject population were not ethnic Koreans, but rather one of the Tungus tribes like the Jurchins (Manchus). But on the other hand, if the Manchus are one of the ethnic groups that make up modern China, it’s not so wrong to see the kingdoms of 高句麗 and 渤海 as part of “Chinese” history…

The Korean argument is that China is on its way to reclaim the Korean penninsula…”distorting history” is one step of re-colonizing Korea, they say,but I think this is REALLY paranoid.

HAHA! Mr Flag-Biter is lucky that he is burning the Chinese flag in Korea and not in China. It is a criminal offense in China to deface, burn, destroy and trample the Chinese flag, the penalty is up to 3 years imprisonment.

I can’t understand why this flag eater is always doing this kind of things. Is this his job (is he receiving some money from newspaper agents or somebody)?

Anyway it is a silly thing, it may make the world only laugh…

it’s dprk’s naturally. the UK didn’t do things yet deserving his flag destruction.

this article shows his another biting of the chinese flag. this one was due to the chinese policy of returning north korean defectors to their homeland. he’s the leader of hwalbindan association and he seems to get recongnition amongst extreme rightists in korea.
