With crime in South Africa out of control, South Africans have responded to the violent crime wave that has caused 20,000 murders a year with dark humor.
It seems like the South African government is as deluded about the crime problem as it is the Aids problem. All the South Africans I know are ex-South Africans – it is just so dangerous that anyone that can afford to get out, does.

I’d rather be a Japanese in Korea than be stuck in that place. At least if I pretend to like kimchi I won’t get shot.
My mates dad got robbed right outside his house and apparently crime there’s so high that they actually had to erect a wall surrounding their property with electric fencing on top of it …. that’s the reason why they packed up and leave
