    I have studied alternatives and the air car has been around for over 20 years. The problem, like with electric and fuel cell cars, is that you still need electricity to make the compressed air. You would have to build hundreds of new power plants to supply enough electricity to generate enough air to replace gasoline powered vehicles.

    Maybe that’s why it’s beeing developed in France where there is plenty of cheap Nuclear Energy. This is the country where most of the power plants are nuclear and there is energy to spare.

    Exactly, Steve Ballard (from Ballard fuel cells) has publicly stated that fuel cells are not clean unless we can generate clean electricity to pull the hydrogen out of water. Catch-22
