Fan Mail
Some people just need to get a handle on their anger

I just opened my occidentalism@gmail.com email account, and found a rather queer mail there.

From: matt wiesunja (wiesunja@hotmail.com)
To: occidentalism@gmail.com
Date: Oct 4, 2006 2:23 AM
Subject: who do you think you are kidding?

How are you doing, Wiesunja? Let’s see what bullshit you are boiling (yet
again) today.

“Look man, you are making a hostile environment around here.”
-Wiesunja, why don’t you read your own comments and see who’s really making
a hostile environment on your blog?

“I would like to politely ask you to drop the sarcasm when writing your
comments.”
-Wiesunja, I would like to politely ask you to drop ignorance, hatred, anger
and pain when writing your comments. (You seem to manage ok when are Matt.
But you really show your true colors when you are Wiesunja.)

“I am hoping for a site where people can exchange ideas..”
– ha, ha, who do you think you are kidding? Did you mean “exchange hatred?”

“if people read your angry sarcasm”
– How about your angry sarcasm, wiesunja, huh?

“Sorry man, but you just come off as very, very angry, and not clever at
all.”
– Nobody on this blog is more angry than you, wiesunja.

– We know that you’ve been really hurt by the koreans. But what you’re doing
is not a very healthy way to deal with your pain.

Enjoy the rest of your day,
Matt Wiesunja.

That email seems to be in response to my request to YoungRocco to tone down his angry, sarcastic comments. Considering the “How are you doing”, and the “Enjoy the rest of your day” bit, it seems that the mail came from YoungRocco.

YoungRocco seems to be under the mistaken impression that I am commenter Weisunja, just as he is mistaken about a great many things. If you want to claim that someone has multiple IDs, or is trolling, then the standard for doing it is right here.

YoungRocco, you got my attention with your mail, but you seem to be projecting your fears on to me. I was never mistreated by Koreans. I do not have any anger towards Koreans either. Just because someone thinks that the Korean claim on Dokdo is weak beyond belief does not mean that the opinion was formed because Koreans mistreated him/her, or was rejected by Korean girls. Get a grip, man.

Update: YoungRocco says he had nothing to do with that mail, and I am prepared to believe him if he says so.

Update 2: I investigated further and it seems like our sender of fan mail could very possibly be Victor, a former commenter, that I unfortunately had to ban for being underage.

Although the mail was sent via hotmail, I managed to look at the underlying code, and the message was sent to hotmail via this IP Canadian address:192.30.202.19。

Received: from 192.30.202.19 by by19fd.bay19.hotmail.msn.com with HTTP;
Tue, 03 Oct 2006 16:23:42 GMT

I then consulted my records and found a match with the same IP –

Author : Victor (IP: 192.30.202.19 , bluebell.tpl.toronto.on.ca)
E-mail : ckim9299@hotmail.com

When I told Victor not to comment anymore, he wrote that he would respect my wishes and not comment, but what he actually did was make another ID and try to comment using that. After that I just banned him completely.

Sorry about the banning, but I gave my reasons, and I reserve the right to limit commenting on Occidentalism to adults.

Though I think this whole situation of calling somebody another’s sock is starting to get silly, I think the anonymous person has a point. Some comments which I believe are written by Japanese people are going a bit over the top with their anger and bashing towards Korea/Koreans. Remember, when you are writing in a non-native language, some things you write may appear more vulgar than you intend them to be, and you are hurting Matt’s purpose more by writing out of anger. I don’t share the opinion that wiesunja is Matt, because I have seen the same kind of angry emotions posted at 2 channel, and since Occidentalism has been linked to at 2 channel on numerous occasions, I think it’s just natural that some of the commentators here have arrived via 2 channel, resulting in such emotions spilling over to here.

You are welcome to disagree with anybody.
But may I suggest not to try to look smarter as if you are in higher position to teach, and help, which does not achieve your point. Just present your opinion and argument with backed up facts and evidences. Stay on the topic. Ignore provocative comment. I think that will make you look smarter, will make Korea look intelligible. I am sorry if this comment itself look haughty, but that is my two cents, and I need a different perspective. I need it to brush up arguments, to get deeper understanding.
As for the email, if you say you have nothing to do with it, I’ll believe you.

YoungRocco says he had nothing to do with that mail, and I am prepared to believe him if he says so.

Maybe if he quit the habit of name-calling (he’s still calling Gerry “Mr. Bevers”) and “Have a nice day” insults, it will help.

You’re asking a Korean to refrain from name calling, insults, and otherwise stupid childish behavior? Good luck with that. That is basically trying to take the fundamental essence of all things Korean out of a Korean person. In other words, similar to asking a Brazillian to refrain from dancing, asking an Irishman to refrain from drinking Guinness, etc.

  13. comment number 13 by: ponta

But I Know many ethnic Koreans who can argue without name calling.

  14. comment number 14 by: ponta

They just stand out because some of Korean name calling are impressive just as many of Brazillian dancing are impressive.

  15. comment number 15 by: torren

chonko: So basically the many fundamental essence of a people has already been figured out. Wow. So uhm…what else are some difficult things to ask of a people…let’s see…Jewish to refrain from being cheap and resource hogging, Blacks to refrain from crime and fried chicken, Muslims to refrain from being terrorists…etc? Interesting idea, though I do not subscribe to it, it does sound eerily familiar. On a side note, I’m surprised that post still is here…well, guess that means this is wrong place for me to be 🙁

ponta: haha, this is first time for me of thinking of a person’s name calling ability to be artful

Well, the same goes for Korean attitude agaisnt the Japanese…they fancy themselves as moralists, always on watch for militaristic moves by the Japanese…even though they should know by now how restrained the military and even the police are in Japan. It’s not like S Korea where soldiers have been gunning down opposition demonstrations as late as 1980.

Matt, You may have banned Victor unfairly. Your banning policy is none of my business, however, I did notice that you said that Victor was banned for being underage. I think he is an adult. I feel its my duty to point this out to you because I am well known to be fair and balanced perhaps to a flaw. So I took a quick goggle on Victors email and I found proof that Victor Kim is an adult.

It seems that Victor ( Seong J.) Kim
offers Korean massages. (Is it me or do Korean massage parlors have a nasty prostitution connotation). Well I doubt that Victor Kim is under 18 and giving man on man massages.

Here is an advertisement for a (male) massage for Victor Seong J. Kim

    http://www.postingzoo.ca/services.php?locnum=0&catnum=813&pcatnum=800&postnum=49685

Certainly Matt, ‘Victor’ Seong J. Kim of Toronto could not me under 18 and still be giving male hot oil massages. By the way, I am not judging Vic about his sexual orientation, but his ID is found on a gay penis worship website:

    http://www.lpsg.org/members/ckim9299.html

Perhaps Victor Kim meets “clients” there. ‘Victor’ Seong J. Kim ID Ckim9299 can be found next to cksucker69.

If there is any doubt that ckim9299 is one and the same Victor that trolls on Occi, well look at this babyvox website where he is bitching about Matt and Occi.

    http://www.bbvox.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1713

A few weeks ago, I bumped into what seems to be an anti-korea blog. The blog basically presents only the negative aspects of Korea/Koreans and is filled with posts that bash koreans.

Based on Victor’s occupation working in a Korean massage parlor, I highly doubt, no matter how childish, immature, and poorly written his comments are, that he is under 18.

However, he is still a troll.

HAHAHAHAHAH! Ah shit, dude, that’s too funny! Anyway, good on him for having a go. I’m not one to begrudge another man dick. More Korean chicks left over for the rest of us!

Oh – at first I thought the 9299 might be his date of birth ie 1992/9/9. Which made sense as he would be 14 years old. Thanks for the detective work!

and garlic bread……how on earth did you FIND his id on a penis worship site? I mean…… ..unless…

    Hi Kid,

Well I took “Victor’ Seong J. Kim hotmail ID, ckim9299 and typed it into google. The penis worship website was the first return. His name is next to names like ckldslvboy, cklover , cksucker69.

Then I saw that Victor’ Seong J. Kim of Toronto also gave male hot oil massages (delivered) and it all made sence.

    http://www.lpsg.org/members/ckim9299.html

Maybe Victor Seong J Kim wants to run for congress in Florida. I heard that there is an “open seat” . Mark Foley, might even be able to show him the ropes.

  24. comment number 24 by: GarlicBreath

One more thing Kid. I really dont know that ” Victor” Seong J. Kim of Toronto is a penis worshiper. I just don’t know what to call that webiste. I did’nt look at the website very close, but it seemed to be a website that is only about the male penis.

    Here are a few topics:

    Enlargement techniques and advice
Make-believe stories and discussions about large penises
Big penis jokes, small penis jokes, amusing anecdotes

I guess “Victor” Seong J Kim really just likes talking about all things penis.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

  25. comment number 25 by: KidfromOhio

Oh okey – maybe similiar people think similiar – and yes, probobly the same people. interestingly simple method

    Matt,
I kindly request you delete Garlic’s postings on Victor.
I personally know Victor. He is really a teenager. If he were an adult, he would have protested when you banned him on the grounds of being a teenager.

Please know that ckim9299@hotmail.com is not Victor’s personal email address, but a shared email account!

    p.s.
By the way, this is my first (and hopefully my last) post here. Matt, feel free to check my IP to verify this..
