New theme

May 20th, 2007 . by Matt

I have made a new theme, but there seems to be some problems with the sidebar falling to the bottom on Internet Explorer. How is it working for everyone out there?

    Hey this is what I do for living, kinda. 🙂

    It’s the pictures of the strange thing from deep ocean. These pics are too wide. That’s why the side bar was down there in IE.

    Here is the fix.

    Find the following line in your css.

    #content
    {
    float: left;
    width: 475px;
    }

    change them to,

    #content{
    float: left;
    width: 475px;
    overflow: hidden;
    }

    This should fix. I checked localy.

    I don’t like it because it has chopped off my maps. Maybe the “overflow” should be “unhidden”?

    Ouch. You’re right… the maps… but if you make it “visible” the sidebar goes around if you post large images next time…. This problem is a mixture of IE’s bug and CSS’s structural problem.

    Gerry, I will work out how to accommodate the maps in the form they are supposed to be in. May take a couple of days though. Until then, everyone, please be patient with the changes, and register any complaint/comments in this thread.

    Former numbering was convenient.

    Hey Matt, I’ve had the same thing happen here and there. Toru’s right about the overflow, but sometimes that affected other things with me as well. I’ve just had to resort to making the the divs slightly less wide – like trying it one pixel at a time until it fits. The annoying part is that it’s always IE6.

    Congrats on the new layout. It looks very nice. I hope this will be a new start for your site. With each new beginning, there is always a chance for positive change and growth… Good Luck!
