Shimane Prefecture’s New English Pamphlet on Takeshima

April 25th, 2007 . by Gerry-Bevers

Shimane Prefecture has printed an English-language pamphlet on Takeshima (Dokdo), which is not only well written, but is also a good source for the spellings of some proper names. The pamplet has been uploaded to the Shimane Prefecture Web site as PDF files if you would like to read it.

By the way, the Sankei Shimbun reporter gave me a copy of the pamphlet when she visited Korea last week.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I translated it last August!

It was reviewed by a national government official who knew what he was talking about, so that’s getting close to Japan’s official position.

If there any English mistakes in there, they decided to re-edit it after I submitted it to them!
