    Nice photos

This is also how the Japanese used to hold a baby. I think mother could work in that way while lulling the baby. Nowadays mother/father holds a baby in front.
Is that the same in Korea?

It is fun to see how people carry their babies in the world isn’t it?! Before onbu-himo, the traditional? Japanese piggybagging device was invented a century ago probably by some J-merchant and has spread since, J-girls still carried babies in a different way than K-girls.
J-girls piggybagged babies on their high backs. They hung sash over their shoulders, crossed in the front, and tied the ends on their backs.
On the other hand, a K-girl in the picture looks like she is carrying a baby on her hip! She must have a healthy tough hip! J-girls also put on baby sitting garments called “nenneko” for both practical and fashion reasons.
