    Thanks Chase,

But I don’t think newsdog will understand. I alreay showed him that link, and what a idiom is. He keeps saying he meant this, that and the other. Half-breed is offensive (DON’T USE THAT TERM NEWSDOG!!) but it can be used for humans.

A half-breed is an animal, Ken, not a human. Just a friendly bit of advice.

What is the advice? You didn’t give any in the OP. For somebody who lectures others on English, you don’t seem to understand how to use it. I only see an incorect statment. Newsdog, take my advice, get back in the kitchen and get back to flipping burgers.

Newsdog I don’t want to embarrass you, but since you don’t seem to understand English.

    A half-breed is an animal.

Half-Breed:half-caste offspring of parents of different races (especially of white and Indian parents)

    Newsdog, DON’T USE IT!!

Basement-dwelling social retards with the confidence to talk back to their betters – all because they can do so without identifying themselves – are the bane of the Internet.

Identify yourself, GarlicBreath, and I’ll start to listen to your tripe.

    Basement-dwelling social retards

The term “retard” is offensive. DON’T USE IT.

You really are a hypocrite, aren’t you newsdog. Lecture someone how to behave and then go do the same thing yourself.

  5. comment number 5 by: Newshound

So does that mean you won’t identify yourself?

  6. comment number 6 by: GarlicBreath

Who are you newsdog? You have shown yourself to be a hypocrite, so I ask you to do so first.

  7. comment number 7 by: Newshound

Click my name. Read my bio and blog. You can find out anything you want. Here’s the short form:

James Watt, freelance writer, ex-astronomer, ex-patriate Canadian, from Toronto.

I never post anonymously, because it means I have to always remain responsible for the crap I say. Unlike most people.

As to the “hypocrite” charge, you mistook my intentions. It’s likely that he wasn’t trying to be offensive, because the Japanese word derived from it is totally fine in Japan, and so I warned him that the word is unacceptable.

Only an ESL speaker would take what I wrote literally. A native would have assumed that I perfectly understand the usage.

I used retard with you because I wanted to be offensive. There was nothing hypocritical in what I said.

    What is the advice?

Classic…Pretty please, read things in context. You’re embarassing yourself. Hmm…is that an advice? LOL

  9. comment number 9 by: General Tiger

    Don’t Korean/Japanese people use “mixed-blood” instead of “half-breed”?

  10. comment number 10 by: Newshound

General Tiger, most Japanese people I know use the term “half” in Japanese. They usually don’t know that the term is offensive in English.

  11. comment number 11 by: General Tiger

Okay, can you get me the Kanji?
    We use “混血” over here.

  12. comment number 12 by: Newshound

No kanji, General Tiger, and it’s a oral word rather than official. They use “ハーフ”.

You can read the Japanese wiki of it here. You can probably puzzle out the meaning by just reading the kanji if you don’t know hiragana and katakana.

    GarlicBreath? Still here?

  13. comment number 13 by: Newshound

(By the way, General Tiger, the official word in Japanese is the same, 混血, read “konketsu”.)

  14. comment number 14 by: General Tiger

I need to reboot my Japanese to comtemporary standards. First time I’ve heard that “ハーフ” had the same meaning as “ミックス”
@GarlicBreath: Will you try to understand what people are talking about before you blabber?

  15. comment number 15 by: Newshound

Wow. GarlicBreath is “silent”. If I knew that all I had to do to make him be quiet is ask his name, I would have asked months ago.

  16. comment number 16 by: surabaya johnny

Goddamn that video was mean! I’m glad I don’t have a (Jindo) dog in that fight.

  17. comment number 17 by: GarlicBreath

I am not sure you are telling the truth James What. What is your address and telepone number, then I will belive you.

  18. comment number 18 by: Newshound

Sure GarlicBreath, why don’t you email me at the address on my site, and I’ll tell you everything you want to know.
If you tell me who you are.

  19. comment number 19 by: GarlicBreath

That is what I thought newsdog, no address, no tel #. Is this some weak attempt to change the subject. I suggest you quit your masterbation over me and get on with your life.

  20. comment number 20 by: Newshound

    A) I asked you your name, you said you would tell me if I told you mine.

    B) I told you my name, and asked your name again.

    C) You said you would tell me your name if I told you my phone number and address.

You are a funny little troll/stalker, but you really have to work on your misdirects and non-squitors.

Email me for more fun, or if you actually want to tell me who you are. Until then, enjoy your trolling.

“images of Koreans I see are Sandra Oh, Margaret Cho, and Celia Yoon”

Mmmm. . . I love Sandra Oh. . . she has a very compassionate and expressive face. But still pictures don’t do her justice, just as still pics of these Korean girls probably don’t do them justice.

  22. comment number 22 by: crypticlife

Oh, and I don’t think “half” by itself, is offensive in English. Few are offended by being characterized as “half-Japanese”, for example.

  23. comment number 23 by: GarlicBreath

Newsdog, I would kinda like to stay on topic but you keep trolling me with your comments.

    A) I asked you your name, you said you would tell me if I told you mine.

Actually, dimwit, I didn’t say that. Are you an ESLer?

    GarlicBreath Says:
Who are you newsdog? You have shown yourself to be a hypocrite, so I ask you to do so first

Newsdog, I want to know who you are. Send me information that proves who you are. Just because you link to some blog, does not mean you are the owner.

So first I must know who you are.

First step: Full name and address with Tel # then we can go to the next step. In other words put up or shut up.

Also, do you agree that you don’t know what a half breed is?

You must meet my conditions or shut up and go back to flipping burgers

  24. comment number 24 by: Ken

    Thnks a lot, Chase.
I did not use the words in such a impolite meaning.
Just I was tired of using ‘half-blood’ from ‘Harry Potter’.
He is stalking around me since I neglected him who had picked quarell with me without data.
I wonder why he reads my post while he judges my English quite a poor.
Besides, he seems an English teacher at that level.
Moreover, I should have appreciated him with telling falsity?
Anyway, let’s discuss with rich contents because here is not a English lesson!

  25. comment number 25 by: kjeff

Well, true or not, Newshound has given you a name, an occupation, and hey, a blog of his own. You, on the other hand, so far have maintained your childish demands, “conditions”, if you prefer. Come on, fake a name, fake something…you can do that much. I recall that you’ve renamed some of us already; it wouldn’t too much of an effort to do the same for yourself, no? Aaargh, you’re not Korean, are you? Ooooooooohhh… I didn’t offend you with that question, did I?
There’s nothing wrong with ‘half’, ‘breed’ is the one that is offensive.

  26. comment number 26 by: GarlicBreath

KoreanJeff, are you playing this silly game too? Ok, well, what is your name etc? Come on now. If you want to get.. you got to give.

Notice no name calling from me.

    I will be waiting.

Now while we wait for Newsdog to quit hiding and say who he is (I mean all of it) and Koreanjeff too. I would like to suggest that we all quit attacking the messinger and focus on the message.

And I think this video showed some lots of Korean girls pre-surgery. Some ugggglies there. I guess I can understand why so many of them go under the knife. But there is a price to pay for their pride.

  27. comment number 27 by: kjeff

My name is Jeffrey Kartakusuma; you can reach me at [email protected]. I’m a small-time entrepreneur, and you don’t really expect me to give out my address and phone number, no? Now, YOUR turn…
I’ve never said “name calling”, I believe the term I used was “renamed”, and kjeff to KoreanJeff certainly qualifies.
AGAIN, now is YOUR turn… I don’t expect address or phone number, just name, e-mail, and occupation. You don’t have to believe mine or Newshound, but at least you should have the courtesy to make up one. And now, I will be waiting.

  28. comment number 28 by: Newshound

Sssh, sweetheart. Mommy says it’s time for bed. Put up or shut up. You don’t get to set conditions, asshole. Tit for tat. I could just tell everybody where you’re from, but I’d rather you did it yourself.

  29. comment number 29 by: crypticlife

    Agreed, kjeff

Anyway, I far prefer comparisons like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pomth3ZOwoM

As a “war”, it’s a lot more fun.

  30. comment number 30 by: Brian

I don’t find the ‘Taiwanese high school girls vs. Korean high school girls’ video funny…

  31. comment number 31 by: GarlicBreath

    Put up or shut up.

Yes put up or shut up.

You don’t get to set conditions,

Yes I do get to set conditions. Watch me.

Here we go again. That term is

    disgusting and offensive.

Still waiting. Please post the infromation I have requested and I will review it for authenticity.

Also are you still claiming that half-breed cannot be used to refer to humans?

  32. comment number 32 by: Matt

Woah, lets calm down here or I will start pruning.

  33. comment number 33 by: Newshound

It’s okay, Matt, I’m done. It’ll chill out now.

  34. comment number 34 by: dogbert

Well, I’ll be damned. . . It’s not “Korean Jeff”, it’s “Indonesian Jeff”!

  35. comment number 35 by: GarlicBreath

Thanks Mr Matt, things were starting to get out of hand.
