Those wacky weekly magazines

September 10th, 2007 . by Matt

Where would we be without tales of Japanese culture like this?

Alas, sighs Jitsuwa Knuckles Special, Japan’s fishing industry is fading fast, and the charming old customs it spawned appear almost certainly doomed. Someday, perhaps soon, all that will remain are these titillating tales, about romances between the men who went to sea and the obliging creatures they encountered therein.

This is frightening, though not entirely unexpected. Morays? Mantas? Yikes!

Thank god for WaiWai, otherwise foreigners might have a normal view of Japan… IIRC, a while back in the US some senator or another said that every farm boy’s first sexual experience is with livestock. I don’t intend to google that to find out who said it though.
