VANK identifies Occidentalism as a “problem site”

December 19th, 2006 . by Matt

Occidentalism has been identified as a “problem site” on VANK’s notice board, and it says that Occidentalism needs to be “dealt with”. Since I do not work in Korea, they can not come after me like the netizens did to Gerry Bevers.

Strangely Occidentalism and ASIA-WATCH is called a “white supremacist” site without giving any reason for it. Ironically at the same time I have been attacked by white supremacists for “advocating” inter racial dating.

If VANK has a problem with Occidentalism, I invite them to come and discuss the issues here. I welcome opposing views and I am prepared to discuss the facts of the issues with VANK.

So come on, VANK. Lets talk about the issues.

When you are attacked from all sides, you know you’re doing something right.

    Keep up the good work!

    VANKは討論するつもりはないだろう。
VANK do not intend to discuss with us.

They will not debate you. They will:

    1) Call you names
    2) Try to silence you with aggressive acts (a la GB), and when that fails use dos attacks.
And when the above don’t work, they will
    3) Go away.

Nationalistic koreans don’t have the stomach or intellectual fortitude for debate. Upon realizing they can’t shut you up, they will forget about you. The dokdo crew are some of the most pathetic people I’ve ever met.

The normal koreans, well, they can be quite a nice people. Vankers are a whole other story.

    Hey! Ride on, Matt!

That is great! VANK finally gave you a credit that you deserve!
Like dogbert said, you are doing something right.
    Congrats!

PS. I am looking forward to see what kind of stupid stuff they are going to pull:>

I doubt Tambe’s ending will happen.

I would expect members of the group or people attracting to it — someone either connected to it closely or in sympathy — will lead a netizen assault on your server.

They have gone after and shut down pages and sites in governments and large bodies with servers of their own.

I have been waiting for a few years for such an attack on http://www.usinkorea.org site, and I still expect it will happen on day.

But, judging by how many emails I get from time to time by Americans demanding to know why I am so anti-US, it might take much longer for it to happen since nobody apparently reads any more – and the Koreans will be reading it as a 2nd language….

But, since the point of the site, and using all the images and video, was to intice Americans to read about the issue, it is still somewhat depressing…

And I 2nd the 2nd of dogbert’s comment – if you get bashed by those two groups, you must be hitting a worthy target….

    usinkorea,
How interesting. I have always thought that your usinkorea site was patriotic and was an attempt at trying to stop your beloved country from going down the wrong path by the lack of information on one aspect of Korea in the US mainsream media. I guess some people who just click thorugh the pages see it only as a “see how we are hated in the world, shame on us” site.

    Matt,
Congratulations for being awarded the VANKER-proof seal. But don’t expect VANKERs to come to this site for debate. Their most likely tactic is the F5 attack. You don’t need brains for that, one resource they apparently lack to a serious degree.

That means Occidentalism is revealing truth about Korea.
By the way, I just wanted to post this link.

Opening Occidentalism was heavy in the past. I wonder if they already attempted F5 attack.
Anyway, I really wish Matt good luck. His and others sites have been very helpful in getting information out and getting more balanced view over the internet.

VANK? It’s a Korean ciber terolists group, forcing their selfish opinions or a fake history to others with making up stories to their own advantages.
We take no account of their unreasonable demand.

Are you crazy, Matt? Asking Koreans to debate issues? That is like asking an Italian to give up pasta. Don’t you know that the Korean mind is genetically incapable of logic and rational thought?
