Maybe they saw this (I am joking. The poll was taken before that happened). More seriously though, I hear that when South Korea decided to recognise mainland China as the legitimate government of all China, including Taiwan, the Korean government treated the Taiwanese in an extremely harsh manner. Maybe some commenters can fill us in on the details of that.

    One note here:

韓國 specifically means South Korea, and don’t anyone argure that the polls may refer to North Korea (朝鮮).

Japan, Australia, and U.S.A. goverment have recognise mainland China as legitimate goverment of all China too.
So I believe the issue must not affect on the survey.

I think it was what happened during that time. If I recall correctly (and maybe I do not), all the Taiwanese government assets in South Korea were given to China, and the South Korean government would not allow Taiwan to participate in the Asia Games when it was held in Korea.

Most Taiwanese are pro-Japanese, Japanese wannabes, I think for that reason they hate Korea, but it could be that because most Koreans favor the Taiwanese integration into China, which I’m agains of.

Pro-Japanese does not mean they hate Korea.Most. Most Japanese are just indifferent to Korea. There are a large number of Japanese who are pro-Korean. More and more Japanese are beginning to feel something is seriously wrong with Korean anti-Japan-ism.

The negative attitude is not related to the Korean recognition of Taiwan to be part of China. Most nations in the world do, and the Taiwanese does not have such high percentage of negative attitude toward them. And, most of my pro-unification friends also held negative attitude toward Korea.
Taiwanese has inherited traditional arrogance of the Chinese worldview. Korean is viewed as kid brother in the paternal order. Korean should be less developed and needs help and enlightenment from the Celestial Empire. Once the Korean ignores his proper place and challenges the superiority of the Taiwanese, it became unbearable.
